At Iberostar, we are fully aware of the importance of educating children. We decided to extend our commitment to the oceans beyond our Star Camp initiatives within the walls of our hotels.
In 2020, we visited schools near our facilities attended by children of our employees. Through these visits, we have the opportunity to tell children about the importance of coastal health and the ecosystems that surround it. All health and safety precautions were taken to ensure the children’s safety.
We visited schools in the Dominican Republic, Mexico, Jamaica and Brazil this year with a total of 143 students and printed 711 calendars. The topic this year was teaching students about what it means to have a healthy ocean and what they can do to help protect it.
