Avoid waste
There are many simple ways in which you can join us in our movement towards ‘waste free’ from home:
- Try to go for no packaging whenever possible or packaging you can use multiple times
- Reuse as much as possible. There are many creative ways to use packaging or containers we could easily throw away!
- Take a ‘shelfie’ (a photo of the items you already have in your fridge, freezer or pantry) before going grocery shopping
- Batch cook and freeze to avoid food waste.
Manage waste
Imagine a world where waste doesn’t exist. No waste piling up in landfills, no problematic materials like plastics making its way into the oceans. You can contribute to make it a reality.
- Choose products that can have value at the end of their life.
- Think twice before throwing something away and try to find a new use for it.
- Check the labels in your products to avoid „wishcycling“.
- Install a composting station at home to manage organic waste.
Lower your carbon footprint
There are many ways in which you can make a positive impact and join us in curbing climate change from home:
- Make your energy consumption more efficient with easy steps like turning down your AC or heating just a few degrees.
- Reuse as much as possible, as it takes a lot of resources and energy from the environment to produce something new.
- Try environmentally-friendly protein like plant-based foods or responsible seafood.
- Support initiatives making an impact to mitigate climate change.

Discover coral
reefs
Even though coral reefs only make up 1% of the ocean floor, they are home to 25% of all marine species – including charismatic characters like turtles, shark whales and rays. They also create and protect many places of natural beauty that we look forward to visiting and protect them from storms and hurricanes.
In the Caribbean, the Iberostar coastlines are surrounded and protected by 10km of coral reefs.
Discover mangroves
Mangroves are truly special: not only do they keep destinations looking lush and green, but also offer many benefits for your vacations, local communities and the planet as a whole.
- They are very effective at protecting our coasts from the impact of storms and hurricanes so that we can continue enjoying them for many years to come.
- Their aerial roots can absorb very large amounts of carbon dioxide, up to 10x more than inland forests!
Discover Mediterranean seagrasses
The Posidonia Oceanica seagrass is an emblematic and very important coastal ecosystem only found in the Mediterranean, which is home to many species like groupers, moray eels and other charismatic small fish.
Posidonia Oceanica also creates many places of natural beauty in the Mediterranean with turquoise and pristine waters.
